To accommodate the increasing population of students, the Executive Vice President Engr. Erhard J. Larga approved and appropriated funds for putting up a new building at the campus.
When finished, the said building will house the entire Basic Education Department.
The new building has two storeys and 14 classrooms.
Construction of the building started in February 2008 and was expected to be done come the next school year.
Parents of pupils were happy and relieved when construction of the new building came into view.
According to one parent, she was always worried when her child goes to school. She fears that her child, a pre-schooler, might trip and fall from the stairs when going to or coming from their room in the second floor.
Now that the elementary pupils will have rooms that are on the first floor of the new building, parents need not worry of such hazards.
Rooms in the second and third floors which will be left vacant when the BED transfers to the new building will be used for the college department.
It will be recalled that for the past school year, the Institute had problems with the lack of rooms due to the increase in enrolment in the college department, especially the Criminology Department.
This coming school year, such problem will be eased and there should be enough rooms to accommodate college classes.
